Kundapur: Take care of commoners during lock down - Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary

Kundapur, Apr 18: "Coronavirus pandemic is a global issue. There is need to work unitedly in order to control this pandemic. It is the duty of everyone to maintain social distance. The government of Karnataka has taken many measure to control the spread of pandemic. The measures taken by the government is such that no inconvenience is caused to people. Police department, health department and Asha activists have to work in tandem in this regard," said minister Kota Srinivas Poojary.

Poojary was speaking after holding discussion with concerned departments pertaining to Kundapur and Byndoor taluk at the auditorium of Kundapur taluk panchayat on Saturday, April 18.

Minister Poojary further said, "We came across positive cases in people who came from overseas. Now the inter-district borders are closed. The situation is under control in areas where strict stand is taken with regards to coronavirus pandemic. Government has also given instructions not to cause any issues to the farmers. Provision is also made to carry agricultural produce to other states. But social distance needs to be maintained at all times.

"Food is being given to even families who do not hold rations card. Traditional fishing has already started. We are also getting complaints of doctors not opening clinics. Doctors are expressing their concern of difficulty in handling patients if they come in large numbers. So all have to bear for some time.

"As many as 352 Asha activists are working in the taluk. They are meeting every family and getting details. There is no positive case in the taluk so far."

Assistant commissioner Raju, taluk panchayat executive officer Keshava Shettigar and other concerned officers were present at the meeting.
