Bengaluru: Renowned novelist Chandrakanth Kusanur passes away

Bengaluru, Apr 19: Chandrakanth Kusanur, well-known novelist and litterateur died on the night of Saturday at Belagavi. He was 90.

Kusanur is survived by wife, four sons and one daughter. He is actually of Kalaburagi origin but was living in Belagavi for some decades.

Chandrakanth was famous litterateur and stage artiste in Kannada. He was born in 1931 in Kusanur of Kalaburagi district. After completing M A and B Ed, he worked as a lecturer in Kalaburagi Hindi education training college. He also founded 'Ranga Madhyama', a drama company. He has written Abbard style of dramas in Kannada.

'Yathana Shibira', Kannada novel was written by Kusanur won the state literature academy award in 1975. He also received the Karnataka Nataka Academy award in 1992. Aravinda award of Nadoja foundation was also bestowed on him in 2006.
