Mangalore: Academy should have Held Tulu Meet: Trust


Mangalore, Dec 20 (The Hindu) : K. Somanath Nayak, president of the Guruvayanakere-based Nagarika Seva Trust, has said that the State Government should have conducted the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan through the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy under the leadership of district in-charge Minister J. Krishna Palemar.

In a statement here on Friday, Mr. Nayak said that the State Government had granted Rs. 18 crore for repair of roads leading to Ujire and Rs. 1 crore for the function and wondered why a private forum was allowed to organise the sammelan.
