Udupi: Mother of Sorrows Parish Organizes Friendly Meet Ahead of Christmas

Udupi, Dec 20: A friendly meet was held at Mother of Sorrows parish auditorium at 11.00 am on Sunday December 20, ahead of Christmas.   

District-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya, MLA Raghupathy Bhat, zilla panchayat president Gladys D’Almeida, Episcopal vicar Fr Baptist Menezes, and Mother of Sorrows parish priest Fr Mathew Vas, were present on the dais.















 
Dr Acharya, speaking on the occasion, said that Christmas is a worldwide celebration and a friendly meet should be organized by spiritual men of other religions to promote peace and brotherhood in the society.   

Over 1,500 people attended the programme which concluded with a delicious lunch prepared by the parishioners on the occasion. 

Fr Mathew Vas welcomed the gathering.  Mother of Sorrows parish council secretary Rita D’Silva proposed the vote of thanks.  Alphonse D’Costa compered the programme.

    Very nice picture, well conducted function,nice to see, State Scouts Governor, Mr. Alva, honouring our MLA, the suprize missing of Rock Dias was very badly felt by all, Merry Christmas to all, and wish more gatherings of this nature takes place in other parishes
