Udupi: Retail pharmacies asked not to dispense paracetamol medicine without prescription

Udupi, Apr 21: Retail pharmacies have been asked not to dispense paracetamol based medicine for cough, cold, fever, fatigue, breathing problems and more without a doctor’s prescription.

They have been asked to record the name of the patient, doctor’s name, address, mobile number and other details in such cases.

Strict legal action will be taken against the violations under relevant section 1940 said assistant drug controller, Udupi circle, Nagaraj.

He advised to inform the health and family welfare department in cases of such symptoms.
