Mangalore: Inter-religious Meet at Infant Jesus Shrine Held

Mangalore, Dec 21: Under the aegis of Infant Jesus Shrine Bikarnakatte and Ryshivana, Institute of Indian Christian Spirituality, Ranipura an Inter–religious prayer meet was held at the Infant Jesus Shrine premises on Saturday December 19 at 6.30 pm.
 

 

Fr Dr John F Sequeira, director, Ryshivana and co-ordinator of the programme, welcomed the dignitaries on dais and explained the purpose of the programme. He explained to the audience that the programme was being held to mark the occasion of Christmas celebrations, a feast that speaks of peace, harmony and brotherhood and secondly to pray for those affected by recent floods at north Karnataka and different parts of the India.

Fr Ronnie Prabhu, episcopal vicar for religious, diocese of Mangalore presided. Eshavittaladasa Swamiji, Sandipani Sadhanashrama, Shree Kshetra Kemaru, Prof Syed Akheel Ahmed, vice-chancellor, Yenepoya University and Prof Honey Cabral, principal, KTC spoke about the need of unity and oneness to bring about peace and prosperity in city. Shri Prajapita Brahma Kumari Vishveshwari, Vasudeva Ucchila, Manavata Vedike and Fr George Santhumayor, superior of Infant Jesus Shrine were present.

Fr Stephen Pereira compered the programme. Ryshivana, Institute of Indian Christian Spirituality, Ranipura periodically conducts such programmes to bring about oneness among the people.
