Mangaluru: Various parts of twin districts experience good rainfall

Mangaluru, May 3: Several parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts got good rainfall on the evening and night of Saturday, May 2. Places like Sullia, Bantwal, Puttur, Mulky and Panambur got rain coupled with thunder and lightning. Some rains were also experienced in parts of the city at night.

Moodbidri and the surrounding areas got rain with thunder and lightning for about half an hour commencing from 7.15 pm. The rain resulted in the severing of power supply to different parts of the coast. The coast was enveloped in clouds since afternoon and the downpour began during late evening hours.

Beltangady taluk once again recorded good rain. The area has been getting good rains since the last some days, which has brought smiles on the faces of agriculturists.

Karkala, Udupi, Kundapur and other areas of Udupi district also got rain along with lightning and thunder. The meteorological department has predicted rain on the coast for two more days. Corona warriors and people manning the check posts went ahead with their work sincerely by using torches and charger lights when the power went off, undeterred by the sudden turn of events.
