Shivamogga, May 4: A woman from Kugwe village in Sagar taluk in the district tried to kill her two children and then end her own life, is recovering. Her two children however are reported to be serious.

The woman identified as Parvathi (30) had mixed herbicide with tamarind rice prepared for Saturday breakfast and had served the same to her children, Sinchana (9) and Sneha (6). She also consumed the tamarind rice herself. But the herbicide failed to have any lethal effect on them. Therefore, she mixed poisonous substance to tea and served it to the children and also consumed it herself.

The second suicide attempt made the three very sick. They were shifted to McGann Hospital at Shivamogga for treatment. Parvathi is said to be out of danger while the condition of her two children is precarious. Reason which prompted the lady to take such an extreme step are unknown as yet.

This is a genuine case needing urgent public attention to find a solution. DAIJIWORLD should take up such cases and highlight their problems to society and find a solution through social media, just the way they took up the Kinnigoli children's case whose parents were murdered. Hope you will do the needful.
