Mangaluru, Jun 2: Over 180 passengers reached the airport here by a chartered flight from UAE on the night of Monday, June 1.
Towards helping coastal Kannadigas stuck in the Gulf because of corona-induced lockdown, NRI Kannadiga entrepreneur, Praveen Shetty, had booked this flight. A total of 180 passengers, most of whom were staff of Shetty's Fortune Group of Hotels, arrived by this flight.
The SpiceJet flight was to land here at 1.20 pm on Monday but there was a delay in take off from UAE. It landed here at around 10 pm. The passengers were accommodated in quarantine facilities at Mangaluru and Udupi, sources said.
