Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai (SHP)

Mumbai, Jun 13: IMD has raised an orange alert for some areas in the state. The forecast states that the monsoon will advance and cover Maharashtra in the next 48 hours.

On Friday, parts of Thane and Navi Mumbai witnessed pre-monsoon showers accompanied by lightning.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Saturday and the city, as well as Thane, can expect heavy rains at isolated places. An orange alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar for June 14 indicating heavy to very heavy rain at a few places.

The monsoons have brought in pleasant rains to Thane since June began, giving much-needed respite from intense heat.
