Mangaluru: MAHE Pro-Chancellor launches Manipal Arogya Card 2020 at KMC Hospital

Mangaluru, Jun 27: The Enrolment of Manipal Arogya card for the year 2020 has begun.

The Manipal Arogya Card scheme 2020 was launched by Dr H S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal.

Dr John Ramapuram, medical superintendent of KMC Hospital Attavar said, “We are observing 20 years of providing quality care at affordable costs to our community.

Manipal Arogya Card was first launched in 2000, to fulfil our founder late Dr TMA Pai's dream of making healthcare accessible to all. Through the last 20 years, we have increasingly grown in enrolling members to the scheme while providing high quality treatment at affordable cost.

"As part of the 20th year observation, we introduced the simple card-making process and the pre-printed smart card will be issued to the cardholder on the spot which will be easy to carry. Quick access programme has been introduced for the easy flow of making the cards. By paying a small sum as membership fee anybody can obtain membership and he/she will receive his/her investment back in the form of concessions in just two or three usages of the card.”

Saghir Siddiqui – Regional Chief Operating Officer of KMC Hospitals Mangaluru explaining the benefits stated, "Enrolment for Manipal Arogya Card 2020 is open from today. This 20th year of Manipal Arogya Card, includes one year and two year scheme with inclusion of Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel in the scheme. The card holder can avail benefits of medical and dental services across Mangaluru, Kateel, Manipal, Karkala and Goa.

"Card membership includes individual membership for 1 person, at Rs 250, family membership includes his/her spouse and any number of unmarried children below 25 years at Rs 500 and family plus membership includes individual, spouse, any number of unmarried children below 25 years and up to 4 parents including in-laws at Rs 650 which is the additional benefit. For the 2-year scheme, individual scheme at Rs 400, family at Rs 700 and family plus at Rs 850.

"The Manipal Arogya card holder can avail discount of 50% on consultation fee for both specialist and super specialist doctor, 20% discount on laboratory investigations, 20% discount on radiology investigation, 25% discount on dental OP, up to 10% discount on the OP medicines purchased from the Hospital Pharmacy and up to25% concession on inpatient bill excluding consumables and packages in general ward. Maternity benefit of 50% discount (excluding consumables and pharmacy) on a total bill at KMC Attavar.

"The Manipal Arogya card holder can fetch discount on special ward categories (twin sharing and single room) including maternity at KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 per admission.

"Since there is no upper age limit for enrolment, this scheme has helped lot of senior citizens to get quality healthcare with affordability. People can enrol for Manipal Arogya Card membership at KMC Hospital Attavar, KMC Hospital Ambedkar (Jyothi) circle, Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel and with our authorised agents."
