Byndoor, Jul 1: “The oath taking of D K Shivakumar as KPCC president will be telecast live on Thursday via digital app in 45 panchayat limits in Byndoor. Byndoor Congress has made necessary preparations in order to watch the programme in every panchayat limit,” said former Byndoor MLA Gopala Poojary to the media reporters.

“The spread of coronavirus is increasing despite imposing lockdown well in advance. Its spread among students and community members in Udupi also is a matter of anxiety. The government and district administration has failed to quarantine people who arrived from Maharashtra and other places,” he said.

“The virus used to spread among people arriving from Maharashtra, Hyderabad and Dubai. But it is spreading in the community troubling ordinary people now. The district administration and the state government should prepare itself at least after this. People in the hospitals should be briefed and the confidence of patients should be strengthened.”

“There are talks of another lockdown in the future but the restrictions in it are not known. The government should take action considering the livelihood of daily wage workers, autorickshaw drivers and the poor,” he said.
