Mangaluru, Jul 7: TM Anupama Shetty was installed as the president of Milagres Toastmasters in a meticulously planned online installation ceremony for the Toastmaster year 2020-2021 on July 5.
TM Anupama Shetty will head the new team of office bearers consisting of TM Zakir Hussain as VP education, TM Leona Aranha as VP membership, TM Azma Sheikh as VP Public Relations, TM Balakrishna Prabhu as secretary, TM Santhosh Nayak as treasurer and TM Nakshatra Chakraborty as sergeant at arms.
Dr Priyadarshini Rai graced the event as chief guest for the day. In her speech to the gathering, she addressed the theme ‘the spark within you’ saying that this spark within everyone is confidence. She stressed that punctuality, dedication and hard work are highly important qualities.
TM Nakshatra Chakraborty served as sergeant at arms for the event. TM Sudheer Kumar initiated the programme with a beautiful prayer. The outgoing president, TM Mahima Bhat delivered the last speech of her presidential term. She thanked her executive team, her mentors and her club members for supporting her through her tenure.
The club mentor, double DTM Dr C K Ballal, presented the prestigious Outstanding Toastmaster Award to TM Leona Aranha. TM Sharline Rodrigues presented a very elaborate secretary’s report highlighting the events, achievements and updates of the club during the term 2019-2020.
DTM Juliana Rego enthusiastically introduced the team of office-bearers.
Past president (2017-2018) of the club, TM Amita Shetty introduced the area director, TM Jyothika Shetty. The officers were installed by the area director. In her address, she spoke about the importance of having self-belief and instilling it in others.
The division director was introduced by TM Suhaima Navreen. Division F director, DTM Molly Chaudhary congratulated the outgoing executive team for the successful year and wished the best for the incoming executive team.
TM Christopher Sequeira graciously handled the felicitations where representatives of different clubs of division F and leaders of district 121 showered the club with well wishes and support. TM Zakir Hussain concluded the programme with a heartwarming delivery of the vote of thanks.
The programme was diligently held together by the anchor, TM Azma Sheikh.
The programme was attended by district club growth director DTM Savitha Salian, district PR manager TM Neil Anthony Gonsalves, division F director, DTM Molly Chaudhary, area director, TM Jyothika Shetty past division leaders, area directors, officers and toastmasters of clubs across Mangaluru and several DTMs.
Milagres Toastmasters was chartered on October 18, 2012 and since then the club has been providing a supportive and encouraging environment to help its members grow as communicators and leaders.
