Bantwal: Results from 16 people of two families in Maripalla turn up positive

Bantwal, Jul 10: A person from Maripalla met with an accident recently. His throat swab when sent for a test during treatment at the hospital was found to be positive. He was admitted into Mangaluru hospital and returned home after treatment.

However, from the throat swabs of his wife’s sister’s family sent for lab tests, 12 people were tested positive.

Another person in Maripalla, was infected with the virus a few days ago confirming four people in their house positive. As 26 people in all are infected in the village, people are scared.

A voluntary bandh is decided after 2 pm every day from July 10. Pudu gram panchayat president, Ramlan Maripalla praised the support for the bandh by the shopkeepers, autorickshaws and tourist car drivers. He said that the spread of the virus can be curbed only by the support of all the people.

All the shopkeepers closed their shops at 2 pm in the village. Autorickshaw drivers, goods vehicles and villagers completely supported the voluntary bandh. The vehicles did not return to the park in the afternoon.

Mosques temporarily closed:

As the corona cases are increasing, all the mosques in the village are closed temporarily. Mosques remained closed in Farangipete, Maripalla, Mally, Sujeer, Perimar, Hattane Mailigallu, Kunjatkala, Ammemar and Kumpanamajalu.
