Belagavi, Jul 27: In an incident which happened at Nippani in the district on Saturday July 25, family members of a woman forced the doctors of the community health centre to perform the delivery of a woman infected with coronavirus. As a result the community health centre was sealed down and patients were discharged.

The pregnant woman went through labour on Friday. Her family members brought her to the community health centre. Corona test on her confirmed the infection. The doctors therefore decided to send her to the district hospital. When she was being taken to Belagavi, the relatives of the woman followed the ambulance in another vehicle, intercepted the ambulance and threatened the driver to turn the ambulance back. The ambulance returned to the community health centre.

The woman's relatives then threatened the doctors at the community health centre to see that her delivery takes place there. The doctors therefore performed the delivery. As a result of the infection, all the patients in the hospital were sent home. The hospital was closed. As such, poor people are deprived of treatment and put into unnecessary problems, reports said.
