Udupi, Jul 27: “BJP government in the state came to power by buying MLAs from Congress-JDS coalition. The government has completely failed to control floods, double talk of ministers, rebellion and coronavirus. Having completed one year is its biggest achievement,” said Udupi district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor and district spokesperson Bhasker Rao Kidiyoor.

“As BJP high command took time to permit extension of the cabinet, the chief minister had to face floods all by himself. The government failed completely to provide problem free life to victims without ministers. The state has given 25 BJP MPs to the centre but they did not try to get additional funds for the state during floods. While it got a simple majority in the by- elections, they faced coronavirus. The rebellion was seen in BJP during those days. BJP has failed to work in coordination as one unit and failed to control the virus.”

“People did not get medicine, treatment and beds in hospitals thereby leading to deaths. Some died looking at the huge expenditure for treatment and some committed suicide due to poverty. Are those not failures of the government? As people, religious organizations and service organizations extended help and kits, during the pandemic, the burden of the government became light. There were scams in the purchase of health equipment and basic facilities. People are in deep distress and economic activities have faced setbacks. The chief minister meanwhile has tried to fool people saying that his administration has satisfied them,” they said.
