Chikkamagaluru, Jul 28: MLC, S L Bhojegowda, blamed irresponsibility on the part of the officials and the government for the increase in the number of coronavirus-related deaths.

He was speaking to media persons here on Monday, July 27.

Clarifying further, he mentioned that a 39-year-old man from the district had recently died of this infection. "Coronavirus infection was confirmed among his parents on July 5. The youth died of an infection on July 22. If the family was subjected to tests after the parents were detected with the infection, the youth would not have died," he said.

He pointed out that the youth was subjected to a test on July 20 and the laboratory report came after a week. Without the report, the youth could not be kept in the quarantine. By then infection worsened and the youth died. The failure of officials is to be blamed in this incident," he explained.
