Bengaluru: CM releases Shivapada Rathnakosha of JSS Math

Bengaluru, Jul 28: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa released the 'Shivapada Rathnakosha' brought out by the Sri Jagadguru Shivarathrishwara Mahavidyapeetha of Mysuru online from Bengaluru on Tuesday.

The Rathnakosha is a treasure trove of Veerashaiva literature and includes Vachana literature, poems and rare words used in the sharana literary works, the chief minister said.

The Rathnakosha compiled under the editorship of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Sri Siddieshwara Swamy of Jnanayogashrama is a ready reckoner of Veerashaiva literature, culture and ideals, he said.

Sri Jagadguru Shivarathrishwara Mahavidyapeetha of Mysuru has published over 300 books, the chief minister said hailing the contribution and service of religious maths in the life and development of the people of Karnataka.

The pontiff of Suttur Math and JSS Mahavidyapeetha Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamy, Sri Siddieshwara Swamy of Jnanayogashrama, Siddaganga math seer Sri Siddalingaswaky, Adichurnagiri pontiff Sri Nirmalananda Swamy as well as deputy chief minister Govind M Karjol, Kannada and culture minister C T Ravi, home minister Basavaraja Bommai, chief minister’s political secretary Shankara Gouda Patil and Pratap Simha, MP, participated in the programme.
