Kundapur, Jul 29: A video clip created by a person in the special COVID hospital here has become viral. The taluk administration has dismissed the allegations made in the video as false.

It is said that a person from Ulloor village in the taluk had become sick. ASHA workers had brought him to the hospital here. The coronavirus test performed on him gave a positive result. He was admitted into the hospital for a day and was being taken to Udupi for advanced treatment when he had breathed his last.

In the impugned video, it was alleged that he was sent away by the Kundapur hospital staff citing a shortage of beds. But chief medical surgeon of the government hospital, Dr Robert Rebello, said that the hospital is not short of beds and that there was no fault in treating the man. He said that the condition of the patient was precarious when he was referred to the hospital.
