Udupi, Jul 29: A cheating case pertaining to a property has been filed in the town police station here against Congress leader Kishan Hegde Kolkebail.

Kishan's father, Raviraj Hegde, had bequeathed the house and property standing in his name at Dollars Colony Bengaluru to his wife through a will in the year 2001. After Raviraj's demise, his wife had gifted this property to Kishan Hegde's brother, Kishore Hegde, in 2005. She also had got the property registered in Kishore's name in the office of the sub-registrar at Bengaluru.

But in the year 2002, Kishan Hegde reportedly had faked the will and signature of his father and got the same registered in his name in 2015 in the office of the sub-registrar here. Kishore Hegde had filed a private complaint in the court here, accusing H Krishnayya Shetty and Chandra Shetty of helping the accused in getting these things done. On the instructions from the court, a case has been registered in the town police station here.
