Bengaluru: CM inaugurates Fishermen Day, grants Rs 6 lac compensation

Bengaluru, Jul 30: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa on Thursday inaugurated the fishermen’s day.

He also released a booklet on the statistics and other information compiled by the State Fisheries Department.

During the function, the chief minister issued a cheque for Rs 6 lac to a family that lost its breadwinner. Fisherlings were also distributed to beneficiaries among the fisherfolk.

Fisheries and Mujrai minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Urban Development Minister Byarathi Basavaraj, Revenue Minister R Ashok, Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat and other officials were present.
