Bantwal, Aug 1: Former president of Bantwal APMC, advocate, political and religious leader Ashok Kumar Barimar (59) passed away at his residence here on Friday night. He has left behind his parents, brother, daughter and a large number of friends and relatives.

He was an advocate by profession and had shouldered the responsibilities of Panemangalore block Congress vice president, secretary and president of Bantwal APMC.

He was the president of the renovation committee of Nitilaksha Sadashiva temple near Kalladka and also the president of the temple management committee. He was ailing for some time and passed away at his B C Road residence on Friday night.
