Kaup, Aug 14: Shamitha Shetty (50), who was riding pillion of a motorbike lost her life at Kukkikatte Junction of Ellur village near Padubidri on Wednesday.
Shamitha, seated on the pillion of the motorbike, was travelling towards Ellur from the direction of Mudarangadi on the evening of Wednesday. When the two-wheeler passed by Kukkikatte junction, its wheels accidentally skidded, as a result of which Shamitha was thrown onto the road. She suffered serious injuries to her head. Although she was rushed to a private hospital at Udupi, she failed to respond to treatment.
Padubidri police have registered a case and begun investigation.
