Bengaluru: Riots at DJ Halli, KG Halli - Toll rises to four

Bengaluru, Aug 17: Out of people who had suffered serious injuries during the riot which broke out on the night of August 11 at DJ Halli, KG Halli and Kaval Byrasandra, another peron succumbed on Saturday, August 15, taking the total number of people killed in these disturbances to four.

The deceased happens to be Sayyed Nadeem (24). He was a mechanic. He as left behind wife and three children.

Tear gas shell had burst on Nadeem's body, resulting in grave injury to his shoulder. The police had admitted him into a private hospital. Later, he was shifted to Bowring Hospital as he was in need of advanced treatment. He had shown recovery in his health condition. He was remanded to judicial custody after subjecting him to mandatory coronavirus test. However, during another test, it was found that he had been infected with coronavirus. Treatments did not work and he breathed his last on Saturday night, the police said.
