Bengaluru: 'Not interested to fight from Sira constituency' - Nikhil Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru, Aug 17: JD(S) youth unit president, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, said that he does not intend to fight the bypoll from Sira assembly constituency in Tumakuru district.

Sira assembly constituency has fallen vacant due to the death of its 69-year-old JD(S) MLA, B Sathyanarayana, recently.

In a statement, Nikhil said that he is not aware who is spreading the rumours that he is interested in fighting the bypoll stated above. He said he does not understand the purpose of spreading such baseless rumours.

He said he is aware that Sira constituency will face a bypoll shortly due to the demise of its MLA. He asserted that he does not deem it necessary to enter the election fray whenever a seat becomes vacant and there is an opportunity.
