Belthangady, Aug 17: On the occasion of the 74th Independence Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sacred Heart College organized an online talk on ‘The Role of Youth in Nation Building’ for the students.

JC Rakesh Hosabettu, lecturer of Govinda Dasa PU College Surathkal and zone trainer of JCI India was the guest speaker. Throughout the session he emphasized the importance of personality development, applying the win-win strategy and special traits to be possessed by the youth to serve the nation.

Principal Dr Joseph N M delivered the presidential remarks and highlighted the importance of NSS in social change. The session was conducted through google meet. 60 students participated actively and interacted with the speaker during the session.

NSS programme officer of unit I, Prof Janardhan Nair welcomed the guest and the participants. Deputy Programme officer Jovita Priya Gonsalves proposed the vote of thanks. Programme officer of unit II, Robin Joseph Sera moderated the session.
