Udupi: JD(S) protests against state government; submits appeal to CM, Governor

Udupi, Aug 18: District JD(S) under the leadership of district president Yogish V Shetty held protests in front of the office of the deputy commissioner here on August 18 against state government which brought about amendment to land reforms Act, APMC Act and labour Act by means of an ordinance. The protesters submitted a memorandum in this connection to state chief minister and governor through additional deputy commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu.

The memorandum was submitted after the former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and party state president H K Kumaraswamy directed to hold district-level protests due to the state government's failure in controlling the coronavirus.



District president Yogish V Shetty, Udupi district JD(S) chief secretary Srikanth Adiga, Jayarama Acharya, Jayakumar Parkala, B T Manjunath, Ranjith Byndoor, Kishore Kundapur, Raju Devadiga, Prakash Shetty Bellampalli, Raviraj Salian, Srikanth Hebri, S P Barboza, Abdul Hameed Yousuf, Ramesh Kundapur, Maruti Mogera, Shamshuddin Majoor, Walter Barkur, Rashid U A, Prashanth Bhandary, Prashanth Salian, Mohammed Harris, Sanavara, Sampath and party activists were present.
