Mangaluru: District Congress demands alternate arrangements for central market dealers

Mangaluru, Aug 20: District Congress spokesperson, A C Vinayaraj demanded alternative solutions for dealers of the central market from MLA Vedavyas Kamath and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Addressing media here on Thursday August 20, A C Vinayaraj said, "The central market has been the talking point for several days. People representatives should be a bridge between the public and officials, but instead, they try to suppress the voice of the people. 597 dealers are operating at the central market, who are dependent on that building. The administration should not forget that.

"Congress always supports the construction of a new market, but at the same time, the dealers need to be provided with alternative solutions. MP and MLA are the reason behind this conspiracy," alleged A C Vinayraj.

A C Vinayaraj said, "Congress has built markets at Urwa, Jeppu, Kadri, Bejai, but at the same time a temporary market was built until the completion of the main market. Why is BJP not able to understand this? The public has chosen representatives to serve the people and not to harass them."

"MCC has submitted a memo seeking withdrawal of notice referring to April 4. We condemn the move for the closure of the central market by pressurizing the deputy commissioner. MP and MLA must come up with an alternative solution and show some humanity toward the dealers."
