Mangaluru, Aug 21: The branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, here celebrated its 50th Founding Day on August 18.

To commemorate the golden jubilee year, a series of programmes were conducted. The formal function was inaugurated by Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, chairman of NMPT. Also present were M V Balasubramanyam, chief general manager, Field GM office, Union Bank of India; Sujaya U Shetty, zonal head, Bank of Baroda, Mangaluru zone, B Yogish Acharya, Canara Bank Circle Office, Mangaluru as guests for the occasion.

The chairman of Mangaluru branch, CA S S Nayak, spoke on the occasion and expressed his gratitude to all the past chairpersons and office bearers who led the branch in the earlier years and they were felicitated by the chief guests on the occasion.

The Mangaluru branch also organized a two-day programme for chartered accountant members and students as well as for the members of the business and industry. The programme was conducted in association with the Udupi branch of ICAI and the Shivamogga CPE chapter. All the sessions were streamed online for the participants. The sessions were inaugurated by CA Atul Kumar Gupta, national president, ICAI and CA Nihar N Jambusaria, national vice president, ICAI. The sessions were addressed by famous speakers including CA T V Mohandas Pai (president, Manipal Global Education) and CA P R Ramesh (former chairman, Deloitte India).

The committee members of the Mangaluru branch comprising of vice-chairman CA K Subramanya Kamath, secretary CA. Abdul Rahman Musba, treasurer CA, Prasanna Shenoy M, chairman of SICASA, CA. Gautham Nayak M, member, CA Gautham Pai D, immediate past chairman CA Anantha Padmanabha were also present at the function.
