Bantwal: Handover of comprehensive drinking water project in a month – Minister Kota

Bantwal, Aug 21: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has asked the drainage board and Bantwal municipal council to complete repairs concerning a comprehensive drinking water project at Jakribettu plant within next one month and transfer the completed project to the municipal council for maintenance.

MLA Rajesh Naik had inspected Jakribettu plant with officials on August 11. As he observed certain lapses it was decided to hold a meeting in the leadership of minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and DC Dr K V Rajendra to sort out the confusion.

Likewise, a meeting was held on Friday. MLA Rajesh Naik said that 90 kilometres of the project in the council limits is completed and a proposal for the remaining 75 kilometres pipeline is submitted to the chief minister which is at the approval stage. BUDA president Devadas Shetty, Karnataka water supply and drainage board director Sulochana G K Bhat were present.

The minister said that an additional dialysis machine will be supplied to Bantwal government hospital within a week. MLA Rajesh Naik spoke to the minister about the need for two such machines as there is heavy demand for dialysis machines in the hospital.
