Bengaluru: DySP Ganapati suicide case revived as court junks 'B' report

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 29: The suicide case of the then deputy superintendent of police (DySP) M K Ganapati, which had threatened to expose a high profile minister of the Congress and two IPS officers, has come back to life to haunt these leaders. The special court for people's representatives here has refused to accept the 'B' report of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This has brought to limelight the names of the erstwhile minister K J George, and IPS officers Pranav Mohanty and A M Prasad.

The 'B' report has given clean chit to these three. Father of Ganapati, Kushalappa, and other family members had filed a petition questioning the 'B' report of the CBI. The judge of the people's representatives’ court who conducted hearing on Friday August 28, quashed the 'B' report and ordered for fresh CBI probe.

The court issued summons to K J George, Pranav Mohanty and A M Prasad in this connection. They have been asked to be personally present for hearing at the court on September 28.

Advocate Pawanchandra Shetty, presented arguments on behalf of the petitioners.

M K Ganapati was working as DySP in the office of the inspector general of police at Mangaluru. He had hanged himself in a lodge at Madikeri on July 7, 2016. In an interview transmitted in a local TV channel hours before his death, he had accused the then home minister K J George, and senior IPS officers Pranav Mohanty and A M Prasad of tormenting him.

When the case was being investigated, the family members of Ganapati had approached the Supreme Court seeking to hand over the case to CBI. The Supreme Court had accepted their plea and ordered CBI probe. First information report had been filed against the above three persons. Finally, the investigators had concluded that the minister and two IPS officers were not responsible for the death of Ganapati.

As this case gave rise to outrage among the public, bending under pressure, the then minister K J George, had stepped down from the cabinet.

Only BJP leaders can get clean chits. If K.J George joins BJP, within three days he will get clean chit. Because of this dirty politics two of the IPS officers also have to sleep on bed of nails.

So this court 'quashed' the previous CBI report, and has ordered a fresh CBI report.

What if CBI sends the same officers who then end up compiling almost an identical report?

Regardless, the Karnataka state has to pay for the fresh investigation.

    Waste of taxpayers' money.

India's justice system stands out from the rest.

Who r you to judge the innocence of ppl?
Govt has appointed a commission and it did not accuse Ganapathy of any wrong doing.
It has become a normal practice for any ti social elements to put forward children and women in front of any agitation and disturb the peace of the society. We g have seen such in J&K and also in Shaeen Bagh or other protest against CAA
