Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 30: The state government has decided to open bars, pubs and clubs that were closed for the past five months due to the coronavirus pandemic, media reports said here on Sunday August 30.

Chief minister Yediyurappa has reportedly given his nod to the excise department to give permission for supplying liquor in bars, pubs and restaurants. The official order will be announced on Monday August 31, reports said.

Excise minister Nagesh has informed that the state government has decided to allow supply of liquor to customers in all places including bar and restaurants.

As per the new safety norms, only specified number of persons can sit at a table. Directions are given to food and liquor supplying people to take necessary precautions. Hands should be sanitized before entering bar, pub and restaurants.

Social distance needs to be maintained without fail between customers. Only 50% customers of the capacity of seating of the bar and restuarants are allowed to enter the bar and restaurant. Liquor can be consumed inside the bar. With these rules, the excise department is going to take out the order on Monday.

On the whole, the state government has given good news to liquor lovers, who were eagerly awaiting for the opening of pubs, bars and restaurants.
