NZ reports two new Covid-19 cases


Wellington, Sep 3 (IANS): New Zealand reported two new coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the total number of infections in the country to 1,408, the Health Ministry said.

Of the two new cases, a woman in her 30s who arrived from the Philippines via Hong Kong on August 29 is in managed isolation at the Distinction Hotel in Christchurch, Xinhua news agency quoted the statement as saying.

The second case was related to the Auckland cluster.

With Thursday's figures, the total number of active cases is 115.

Of those, 36 are imported cases in managed isolation facilities, and 79 are community cases.

The death toll remained unchanged at 22.
