Mangaluru: Bala Yaksha Koota Kadri to stage Yakshagana plays on Sep 4, 5

Mangaluru, Sep 3: Bala Yaksha Koota, Kadri will be presenting Yakshagana plays titled ‘Dwidina Dheengina Sambhrama’ on September 4 and 5.

The programme on September 4 in Namma Kudla studio will be inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada district Sahitya Parishat president K S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura. Bala Yaksha Koota honorary president Dinesh Devadiga will be presiding over the inauguration. Namma Kudla director Leelaksha Karkera is also expected to take part.

Yakshagana artiste of Thenku Badagu team and paediatrician at KMC hospital, Dr Sunil Mundkoor will be honoured with Yaksha Vaidya award. It will be followed by Gadayudda Yakshagana play by Bala Yaksha Koota and Mahila Yaksha Koota, informed convener Kadri Ramachandra Bhat.

The live telecast can be viewed on Namma Kudla TV and Namma Kudla YouTube channel.

Babruvahana Yakshagana play will be staged on Saturday, September 5 from 7 pm. Kateel temple priest Harinarayana Asranna, Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation chief secretary Purushotham Bhandary, farmer Shalini B Semitha and entrepreneur Kadri Vasudev Bhat Kunjathodi will be participating in the programme. It will be followed by Babruvahana play performed by Yaksha Koota.
