Davanagere, Sep 4: National president of Sri Ram Sena, Pramod Muthalik said that during the 2009 pub attack, the BJP government that was ruling Karnataka then had targeted him alone and sent him to jail for 15 days. He complained that the government never seriously targeted the drugs menace

Addressing a press meet here on Thursday, September 3, Muthalik said that he had told the government repeatedly that drugs and other mafia have been carrying on their activities through pubs but they turned a blind eye. "The result is in front of us. The police and politicians are the main culprits who have allowed the drug business to flourish. If the central and state governments have concern for the youth, they need to get the issue investigated by a central intelligence agency," he demanded.

Muthalik recalled that MP, Shobha Karandlaje, who had said that the fight between Nalapad, son of Congress MLA, N A Haris, and a youth named Vidwath had happened on the issue of drugs and demanded an investigation, has fallen silent in the matter when her own party is in power.  He also urged the government to consider the statement made by the former chief minister, H  D Kumaraswamy, that drugs money was used for the toppling of the coalition government in the state.  He demanded the matter to be investigated.
