Udupi, Sep 7: Pejawar Sree inaugurated the free distribution of Bilva Patra saplings under the joint aegis of the forest department, the social forest department of the district and NSS unit of SMSP Sanskrit college to the citizens on Sunday September 6.
Pejawar Sree asked the devotees and civilians of Udupi to plant the Bilva Patra plant in their homes and nurture it as it is good for puja as well as health.
Zonal forest officer (social forest) Ravindra Acharya, secretary of the college administrative committee, Devananda Upadhyaya, principal, Dr L N Bhat, Dewan of Math M Raghuramacharya, entrepreneur Yashpal Suvarna, Devraj Pana, faculty and students were present.
Vasudev Bhat Perampalli coordinated the programme. The Bilva saplings will be distributed every day from 10 am to 6 pm till Tuesday, September 8.
