M'luru: District Cong stages protest outside Wenlock hospital, demand facilities for Covid patients

Mangaluru, Sep 7: District Congress staged a protest outside Wenlock Hospital on Monday, September 7 against the state government highlighting the scarcity of ventilators, ICU beds and lack of facilities for the Covid patients.

Congress alleged failure of the government and demanded the resignation of health minister and district in-charge ministers of both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

"There has been a rise in the number of Covid cases in the district as well as in the state. So far 401 have died in the district without receiving proper facilities. All the ventilators, ICU beds, oxygen beds have been occupied and there are no beds available for new Covid patients. Despite placing the demands the government has been keeping quiet. We demand more ventilators and ICU beds," said district Congress president Harish Kumar.

District Congress president Harish Kumar, former MLC Ivan D'Souza, former MLA J R Lobo, Mohiuddin Bava and others were present.
