Kundapur: Varalaxmi Trust distributes scholarships, felicitates special achievers

Kundapur, Sep 8: Varalaxmi Charitable Trust, Uppunda handed over scholarships to students who have excelled in studies and felicitated special achievers in a programme held in Yedthare Buntara Bhavana on Monday.

Former district panchayat president S Raju Poojary commended the support by entrepreneur Govinda Babu Poojary to students facing financial hardship for education.

Govinda Babu Poojary, who is the managing trustee of Varalaxmi Charitable Trust chaired the programme. He said that the Trust has been distributing scholarships for the last six years and 60 scholarships were distributed this year.

Special achievers Surabhi S Shetty, Anushree and Kundapur APMC president Venkata Poojary were felicitated and medical help was provided.

Byndoor block BJP president Deepak Kumar Shetty, block education officer Jyothi Srinivas, entrepreneur Gururaj Panju Poojary, Byndoor taluk Billava Sangha president Ganesh L Poojary, Girish Byndoor, Virendra Shetty, Trust elders Daniel Nazareth and others were present.

Geeta Byndoor sang a prayer on the occasion and teacher Subrahmanya Ganiga compered and rendered the vote of thanks.
