Bengaluru: Sanjana cornered based on drugs peddler Niyaz's statement

Bengaluru, Sep 9: When the Central Crime Branch (CCB) began to delve into the drugs scandal, there were expectations that actress Sanjana might be taken into custody before Ragini. However, the police had arrested drug peddler Rahul and event managers Prithvi Shetty apart from Viren Khanna. But the arrested people could not provide any new information about the actress, it is said.

The police got the lead through Niyaz. Niyaz had come closer to Sanjana after getting to know her when acting for a Malayalam movie, 'Kalki'. This closeness perhaps cost her dear. After her arrest, a video of a birthday party arranged for drug peddler Rahul at her house has been doing the rounds in the social media. It is said that both Sanjana and Rahul had saved the birthday party video on their mobile phones.

It is learnt that neighbours were feeling disturbed by night parties held at Sanjana's residence often. Even though they raised objections, Sanjana did not take them seriously. But after the arrest of Ragini, it is learnt, Sanjana spoke to all her neighbours and apologised. Reportedly she did so because of the fear that they might give an adverse opinion about her to the police.
