Mangaluru, Sep 10: Nivedita Mirajkar of Mangaluru has been elected as the new chairperson of the Mangalore-Udupi Chapter of the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD).

The other office bearers are Dr Malini Hebbar (Vice-Chairperson), Preetham Kamath (Secretary), Dr H V Balachandra Achar (Treasurer), CA MN Pai (National Council Member) and Divyashree Gatti, Brijesh Krishnan, Brian Fernandes and Shivani Baliga (Managing Committee Members).

The new executive committee will hold office for two years 2020-2022. The election results were announced yesterday by the returning officer V Vijendra Bhat, after the ballots were counted at the Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Udupi.

Accepting the election results, the new chairperson Nivedita Mirajkar said, "We have a dynamic team that aims to deliver value to the members. We have several initiatives in mind like bringing out a Trainers Directory and entering into tie-ups with educational institutions and industrial establishments. We also plan to have trained the trainer workshops for members. We will roll out our plans from time to time."

Established in April 1970, ISTD is a national level professional body and non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It has a large membership of individuals and institutions involved in the area of training and development of human resource from government, public and private sector organization & enterprises, educational and training institutions and other professional bodies.

ISTD provides a platform to HR personnel, trainers and educationists to upskill, network and seek professional opportunities.
