Udupi: Victim of hit-and-run accident dies in hospital

Udupi, Sep 12: The man hit on the night of September 10 by a speeding car that sped away succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Friday afternoon.

The deceased, Harish was standing near his timber depot on Mangaluru to Udupi road, NH66 on September 10 at around 8.50 pm when a speeding car having registration no KA-19-MB-6788 driven recklessly by its driver to the extreme left of the road. It hit Harish who was standing on the mud road. He suffered critical injuries to his head.

He was rushed to Udupi Hytech hospital and later shifted to Udupi district hospital ICU after first aid. He passed away on Friday afternoon. His mobile phone is with Kaup police but his address or details of his relatives are still not known. Police have asked the concerned to contact Kaup police station.
