Kaup: Decomposed body found at Belle, case registered

Kaup, Sep 14: After he found a deposed body of an unidentified person behind Pamboor Catholic private higher primary school at Belle, convener of the school, Fr Henry Mascarenhas, called the headteacher P Jenet Reji on Sunday, September 13 evening and conveyed information.

The headteacher found that a completely decomposed body with its skull and torso having been separated at a spot full of bushes was lying behind the said school. A half shirt that is purple in colour with white stripes and blue half plants were found on the body. The bones of the body were protruding and no other identifying marks could be found.

It is suspected that the man possibly died over two weeks back and must be aged around 30 to 35 years. Shirva police have registered a case under section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code and begun investigation. Cause of death could not be ascertained immediately.
