Udupi: One person detained for consumption of Ganja in Brahmavar, two in Kundapur

Udupi, Sep 18: Manjappa, D R police inspector and staff on definite information detained a person named Nagaraj, resident of Uppoor village, Brahmavar taluk at Brahmavar Rudset cross on September 16 at 5 pm on charges of consuming drugs. He was examined by Manipal KMC hospital forensic department experts who confirmed on September 18 that Nagaraj had indeed consumed the drug. A case under registration No. 152/2020 section 27(b) NDPS Act has been registered in Brahmavar police station in this connection.

Sadashiva R Gavaroji, PSI Kundapur police station was on rounds in the station limits along with station staff Joseph D’Souza and PC Raghavendra on September 14 when they received information of the consumption of drugs near Beejadi bus stand. They went there at about 3.30 pm and found a man heavily inebriated. They detained and produced him in front of KMC forensic department experts who examined him and confirmed that he had consumed Ganja. A case under crime No. 149/2020 section 27(b) NDPS Act has been registered in this connection.

PSI Sadashiva R Gavaroji was on rounds in front of Kundapur police station in the company of station staff Santhosh and Prasanna on September 14 when they received information that a person was consuming Ganja near Vinayaka junction. They went there at about 4.30 pm and detained the accused. KMC forensic department experts who examined him then confirmed that the man had indeed consumed Ganja. Police have registered a case against Rohith R Putran (23), resident of Hangaluru village, Kundapur under crime registration No. 150/2020 section 27(b) NDPS Act
