Kundapur, Sep 19: After finding that ganja was being transported in an insulator vehicle, a police team led by police sub-inspector of Gangolli station, Bheemashankar Sinnur Sanganna, arrested four persons and confiscated drug, insulator vehicle and cellphones.

The Gangolli police received information on Friday September 18 evening through informers that ganja was being transported in an insulator vehicle bearing registration No K 20D - 5488. The sub-inspector, along with the taluk magistrate, witnesses and station staff, reached near Maravanthe mosque and waited beside the national highway 66. They intercepted the said vehicle when it reached the spot at 9.30 pm and found 20.630-gram ganja inside. Accused, Mohammed Saqir (21), Mohammed Jaffer (32), Alfaz (20) and Mohammed Yousuf who were in the said vehicle, were taken into custody.

The stock of ganja as stated above, bag in which it was stored, five mobile phones and insulator vehicle were taken into custody after the inquest. The total value of the items confiscated has been estimated at around Rs 14,45,000. The arrested accused are likely to be produced in the court today.
