Bengaluru, Sep 21: Inspite of the decision of union government to start classes for students of ninth to 12th grade from September 21, the state government has denied allowing students to attend school till the end of September. Private schools of the state have expressed their anger against the decision of the Karnataka government.

The state government on Saturday, September 19 took the decision of not allowing the students to attend classes till the end of September as the central government had left the final decision to the discretion of state governments.

Speaking on the subject, Shashikumar of Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary schools in Karnataka (KAMS), said, "The decision of state government to keep the students away from schools is not right. Union government itself has given the permission to allow the students to attend classes. However, Karnataka government has denied the permission at the last moment."

"Private schools have made all preparations for the reopening of schools. Many schools have spent thousands of rupees on sanitization of school facilities, readying of teachers and getting confirmation letters from parents. Due to the Vidyagama programme of the state government, private schools' income is going to get affected badly. The state government is trying to attract students towards Vidyagama project."

State government itself is sending teachers to the place where students reside and teach them in open grounds. This has irked the private schools.
