Mangalore: ‘Bomb Blasts, a Conspiracy to Defame State Government’ – Acharya

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 21: State home minister, Dr V S Acharya, who had termed the bomb blasts as the handiwork of bookies a couple of days ago, appears to have changed his mind. During his visit here on Tuesday April 20, he expressed the suspicion that it was a conspiracy to bring bad name to the state government.

Speaking to reporters, who had met him during his visit to the city to take part in the Ullal Uroos celebrations, Acharya said that the BJP government in the state has been undertaking development works on a large scale. He felt that the forces which are unable to appreciate the growing popularity of the state government had been behind the bomb blasts. He also guessed that it might also be an attempt to ensure that important cricket matches are not allotted to the state.

He denied that the centre had taken the state government to task relating to the blasts, as reported by the media. “They had sought some information, which have been provided. At the same team, central and state teams have been investigating the issue. It would not be prudent to reveal more on this issue,” he claimed.

Acharya was of the opinion that there is no relation between the blast and Mangalore, as far as he knows, but promised to conduct investigations on this angle too. “We are now busy with ensuring that gram panchayat elections are held peacefully, in view of the naxal menace. We had ensured that no untoward incidents occurred during the last Lok Sabha election in the state. The naxal problem in the state has largely diminished of late,” he stated.

We should stop working on guess work. The incidence occured only because NOT TAKING STOCK of the situation well in time relating security matter.Once these type incidence occures, the matter becomes talk of the day ,consumes few columns of News Paper and issue becomes outdated. Here basic question is whether security aspect is carried out with required level of sincerity/seriousness.Now a days at many public places in Bangalore people are subjeted to security check at the entrances of the venue. But security aspect is not carried out
keeping 'ears and eye open'.Then what the purpose it serves? I can give examples
where the security matter is carried out as a ritual. In Kempegowdaa bus stand at the entrance ,near Canara Bank ATM, the electronic seccurity door is installed. The person manning the same some times seen sittting on the nearby chair and some times no body is there.Even if round the clock security personnel is deployed ,there are lot of loop holes.Any unscrapulous person/s can enter the bus stand easily from other sides. This factor is totally ignored/not been considered while working seccurity matter. In another case, a Mall on Mysore road ,the main entrance to the building, people are wisked away to inside through proper security check.Few yards away, the exit point is free for all for those who take the things to auto/other vehicles.Any body can misuse the situation. This is how we manage security matter. We should consider the security aspect a super speciality job.
