Seats Blocked by Brokers : Comed - K to Hold Fresh Counselling for PG Seats

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SB)

Bangalore, Apr 23: The counselling for all post-graduation seats allotted by Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges (Comed - K) PGET 2010 including those during the first round on April 10, will be held afresh on April 29 and 30. The second round of counseling for medical and dental seats was abruptly called off by the management on Thursday April 22 after a sting exposed the role of brokers in blocking seats during the counseling process.

The sting exposed brokers promising seats to candidates for a sum of money in bargain for the seats that had already been blocked. This witnessed a protest from students and alleged activists of Jai Karnataka. There was also a pandemonium after the activists beat up the brokers at the premises. Soon the counseling was suspended and subsequently cancelled.

Fresh Counseling

Now the Comed - K has decided to hold fresh counseling for all seats on April 29 and 30 after the conclusion of KCET counseling. The venue for the fresh counseling too has been shifted from NMKRV College in Jayanagar to the RV Dental College.

This is shocking. Even in education field there is corruption. With such malpractise in the medical field can we rely on the doctors for trouble free treatment when they come out with their degrees to practise.
