Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 29: The Society of St Vincent DePaul on October 29 renewed its agreement with the Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) by inking anew their zeal to serve adopted families in attaining health care with dignity.

G J Coelho, the incumbent president of the SSVP beautifully welcomed the gathering with an introduction of the works the organisation carried out in association with the Father Muller Charitable Institutions hospitals at Kankanady and Thumbay. He thanked the director, Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho for the support provided during the past year and for the concessions provided to the organization as part of the MoU.

Coelho narrated the envisioning of the project to help member families of the SSVP and the adopted families of the organization. With the guidance and support of Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital the project to help treat the adopted families of SSVP came into realization. Fr Rudolph brought in a new thinking in the way the organization could help families who are financially poor in attaining the best health services using the facilities of the hospitals under FMCI.

He appraised the gathering of the appreciation and satisfaction of the patients who were treated and conveyed their thanks to the FMCI management. Patients feedback that they received, commending the workings of the dialysis unit, nursing services, the availability of the doctors, the untiring works of the credit department especially Anil, has been commendable and noteworthy.

Fr Richard A Coelho expressed his profoundness for the service of SSVP who follow the exempla nary nature of their patron saint. The fruit of their service has been known far and wide. Fr Richard lamented on the fact that the world looks for instantaneous services, they do not see a 'human' in the doctor or nurse even the management of the hospitals. There is a need to understand in which way a private hospital carries out its work and the nature of charitable work it does. The MoU signed on a trial basis has been successful and has benefitted many.
Present for the signing were; Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa the administrator of the Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Dr Udaykumar medical superintendent, Dr Kelvin Pais lLiaison officer and credit in charge, Clarence Machado treasurer of SSVP and Preetha Lobo Health Care project officer of SSVP.
