Education dept may open schools, PU colleges in December second week

Bengaluru, Nov 9: The educational department in the state has decided to reopen schools and PU colleges that are closed since eight months in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, from December.

According to sources in the education department, there is a possibility that the commissioner may recommend, in the first phase, from the second week of December, schools can be started only for students from ninth to 12th grade. Later, in the second phase, after observing the consequences, schools can be started for grade five to eight. In the third and last phase, classes for other grades may be started.

Definite information of proposal of starting classes for grades ninth to 12th in the first phase is available as of now. However, the date of actual starting of schools is not yet available. According to some other source in the education department, there is a proposal that the schools should not be started till January as winter is going to start in December.
