Udupi: 'COVID test mandatory for students from other states' - DC

Udupi, Nov 10: Deputy commissioner (DC) of the district, G Jagadeesha, stated that it is compulsory for the students from other states coming here for studying in the educational institutions in the district when they start functioning.

At a meeting of experts which he addressed on Monday November 9, Jagadeesha asked the officials to make sure that no more than the prescribed limit for meetings and functions as per guidelines are present there. He said that an official should be deployed to specifically verify the same. He also advised the patients getting admitted into private hospitals for treatment of chronic diseases to be subjected to COVID tests. He also called upon the people to take care to make sure that second phase of COVID does not spread in the district.

He asked the concerned to implement all the suggestions the committee of experts might give. He thanked the government and private doctors on behalf of the district administration for having served excellently to control COVID pandemic in the district.

District health officer, Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda, district COVID nodal officer, Dr Prashanth Bhat, Dr Premanand and doctors of the expert committee were present.
